Automatic Replies
Automatic Replies Back to Help IndexBack to index help

When Backup Platinum agent is running in application mode and some error/event occurs, you see the corresponding message box where you select what action to perform. When Backup Platinum agent is running in service mode, it does not directly support interaction with GUI (graphical user interface). It can interact with GUI only via Backup Platinum user unterface. Thus, if Backup Platinum user interface is not connected, message boxes are not displayed. They are replaced by default actions that the program should perform. You should specify default actions on Automatic Replies tab of program settings. These actions will be performed without interaction with a user.

Below is the description of possible problems and program events that can occur during Backup Platinum agent work.
The list of possible default actions corresponding to each problem/event is also displayed. You can select a single default action for each problem/event.

File opening failed:
A problem with opening a file occurred. For example, the file has been exclusively opened by another program during backup procedure.

Skip: skips failed file;
Retry: retries opening this file;
Stop: stops backup process if such problem occurs.

File writing failed: A problem with writing a file occurred.

File processing failed: A problem with processing a file during backup occurred. Note that file operation failure is the problem with performance of some operation not directly related to backup. File processing failure is the problem with processing the data that is being backed up, for example, a problem with processing file names during creation of file system on a CD/DVD.
Skip: skips failed file;
Retry: retries processing failed file;
Stop: stops backup process if such problem occurs.

Registry import prompt: It is a prompt suggesting you to confirm or cancel your intention to copy some data to system registry. For example, you have backed up registry on some computer and want to import backed up registry file to another machine.
Continue (OK): continues importing the registry;
Skip: skips importing the registry;
Stop: stops backup process.

Note: Default actions specified on Automatic Replies tab will be performed only in case there is no possibility to display message boxes.
